Following an epic exit from women’s health, Robin and her husband pursued their passion for farm-to-table products co-founding the first distillery in Orange County, Blinking Owl Distillery since prohibition. With a mission to work with organic grains exclusively from California farmers, this Orange County gem has received multiple local and national accolades for the superior organic California grain-based spirits they produce, alongside a unique and excellent destination. Navigating the brand new, complex California Craft Distillery license type, this world-class manufacturing plant and restaurant was launched overcoming complex regulatory challenges in a highly regulated market.
With her skill for business development in combination with her obsession with quality food and beverages, Robin contributes her expertise to the distillery as the CFO for the Blinking Owl. Starting with a meticulous 100-page business plan, Robin helped Blinking Owl Distillery navigate a massive undertaking to international acclaim.

You may recognize Blinking Owl partner, actress Kirsten Vangsness, as agent Penelope Garcia on the CBS hit crime show, Criminal Minds. Back in 2002, Kirsten met Robin at her clinic, Womanology. A "starving actor" at the time, Kirsten could not afford to pay for her needed treatments so Robin offered to treat her as much as needed in trade for tickets to her plays and shows. Quickly becoming close friends, Kirsten got her star break in 2005.
(Don't worry HIPPA, Kirsten has told this story publicly)
Kirsten immediately said "I love whiskey, I want in," when the Christenson's told her of their distillery dream. Still in need significant funding, the 3 set out in search of additional investors.
TWO WEEKS AFTER the search began, Hoag Hospital approached Robin about purchasing her Womanology clinics. Finalizing the sale a few months later, Robin + Brian and Kirsten were able to provide much needed seed funding.
I love this story and could not have dreamed of a more beautifully woven history of life events.
